Yesterday I decided to try something new and I’m so glad that I did! I’ve always wanted to branch out and explore more about painting, so when the opportunity to learn how to paint watercolor flowers came up, I couldn’t resist.
The Paper + Craft Pantry is an adorable shop here in East Austin as the “first and only locally-owned retail paper shop and full-service workshop studio with a goal of creating an inclusive and creative space in the community.” They do workshops with local small business and artists where you can learn anything from creating hand carved stamps to loom weaving to shibori indigo dyeing!
How cute is the inside of their shop? (currently obsessed with that Thanks a Brunch card)
I decided to attend to their Intro to Watercolors: Floral Letters and it was so much fun! Their shop is bright and inviting, and I enjoyed getting lost in a creative project. It’s so great to find time to relax and do things you enjoy after long work weeks – and I love how time flies by when you are having fun!

The setup for us crafters
PS. Bonus – they provided some delicious snacks and moscato? rosé? for us to drink (I’m no wine expert, but it was delicious).
Below is the work I started on! I didn’t get to finish (1.5 hours is not enough time!), but we got to take home all the watercolors/palette/paintbrushes/& paper home so I’ll probably work on it this weekend! I can’t wait to get back into crafting and painting – it’s so relaxing 🙂
Much love,
Jordan
